Meet the Designers & Shop the Sidewalk

You’ve seen their work in magazines, you’ve followed them on Facebook, maybe you even subscribe to their blogs.  Now, it’s time to get to know the designers of the 2012 Southern Living Idea House in person!

Come meet and interact with the Idea House Team at the first Designer & Sponsor Day.   Representatives from  the interior design firm Tracery Interiors, the architecture firm Historical Concepts, and the landscape architects at Get More Curb Appeal will be at the house on Saturday, October 6th, from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, along with sponsors such as Ikea, Phantom Screen and Shaw Floors.

And, after you’ve soaked in enough inspiration, head up the block to Historic Downtown Senoia  for lunch.  Then, shop the annual Sidewalk Sale (1o am – 5 pm), where you just might find a treasure for your own home.

Southern Transformation

It took nearly a year for Southern Living magazine and the Idea House Team to transform a tired 1830s farmhouse into Southern Living’s 2012 Idea House, but the entire process was captured on video.  This 30 second spot shows makes it look easy:

FOUR Days Until the Grand Opening!

The 2012 Southern Living Idea House is dressed and waiting for her date (with you, the visitors!).  In the meantime, her proud “parents” have sent a photo and video crew to get some pictures while she’s all gussied up.

Deadline, What Deadline? Idea House Ahead of Schedule!

Thanks to John Bynum Homes, builder of the 2012 Southern Living Idea House, there will be no mad dash this year!   Project Manager Tom and his crew have done an outstanding job keeping the rehab and restoration of this historic farmhouse on track.  In fact, they’re ahead of schedule! 

 As you can see in the picture below, this little corner of Senoia, Georgia, is really taking shape.   The landscaping is almost complete.  The Idea House Interior Designers will start moving furniture in this week, and the doors will open to the public the first week of June.  Start planning your visit!

 

From Southern Living to Southern Ground

Did you know that your visit to the Southern Living Idea House will benefit musician Zac Brown’s Camp Southern Ground?
